Recorded live Brighton Dome 2004 as part of ADF’s re-score of the classic film “Battle of Algiers“, our version of Ennio Morricone‘s incredible theme music.
ADF would like to pay our deepest respects to the compositional genius Ennio Morricone who died recently. In 2001, we were both part of the Barbican’s Only Connect and were honoured to appear on the accompanying CD with “Riddim I like” appearing next to his magnificent theme from “The Mission”. A few years later in Rome, Chandrasonic was told by Ennio’s manager “Ennio would like you to know how much he likes your music” presumably because of that CD. We’re still blown away that he had even listened to it let alone sent such a warm message. In 2004, we were commissioned by Brighton festival to re-score the classic “Battle of Algiers” film, which meant we were working with great man’s music directly. We did it again last year in Paris and we hope that what we did lives up to his incredible legacy. This version was recorded live in 2004 at Brighton Dome.
